After School Program

Greensboro Wonder & Wisdom, Inc. provides after-school programming throughout the school year and on some school vacations.  We are located in the downstairs of the GUCC in Greensboro, Vermont.  There is also a bus to bring kids home afterwards if parents are unable to pick up their children directly.

Our intention is clearly focused on learning, and the children’s experience at GW&W is just as clearly about having fun.  Magic does happen. Much of what we do at Greensboro Wonder & Wisdom is about connection: to each other, to place, and to ourselves.  We use learning and fun as tools to build community. We envision a world in which love has replaced fear as its operating system.

Our activities include lots of support and participation from the community.  Last year, the children adapted the Vermont Reads book, As Long as There are Mountains by local author, Natalie Kinsey Warnock, and after writing the script and preparing the scenery and props, presented their play to the community.  Staff had fun hosting the highlight of the spooking season, our first annual Haunted House. Visits to the Lumsden’s sugar house, C.R.E.W., and to local labyrinths rounded out our field trips.
